La Trobe to Host Revived Fin McNab University Cup Tournament

La Trobe University Hockey Club is pleased to announce, in collaboration with Melbourne University and Monash University, the return of the Fin McNab University Cup tournament in 2013.

Established in the 1970s, the Cup competition began as a Men’s three way tournament between the universities at the time. Findlay McNab, patron of the then Victorian Amateur Hockey Association, had sons playing at both Melbourne and Monash and suggested the competition which was often used as selection for the Vic University teams.

Having last been played more than 15 years ago, the three universities are pleased to announce its revival in 2013 in what will continue to be an annual competition.

The 2013 tournament will be held at La Trobe University Hockey Club’s ground on the 2nd of March. The three clubs will compete in both the Men’s and Women’s tournament. RMIT and Swinburne have also been invited to participate.
