Seniors

We’re always looking for new players to join both our Men and Women’s teams. We cater for all skill levels, from competitive Vic League through to social Metro grades. You don’t have to be a La Trobe University student to play (although it’s cheaper!).

While our on-field success is important to us, so is the social side of hockey with a strong culture and a number of events held throughout the year.

TRAINING & GAMES
For those wishing to play in the competitive grades, preseason is recommended (commences late November) and training is compulsory (commences late January).

Women train on Tuesdays (7.00-8.30pm) and Thursdays (8.00-9.30pm).
Men train on Tuesdays (8.00-9.30pm) and Thursdays (7.00-8.30pm).

Games are played on Saturday or Sundays, the season begins in April. (This year due to COVID-19 we expect the season will begin in July.)

All players are invited to a free trial training session – we can provide all equipment, please just bring your own mouthguard.

WHAT ABOUT COVID-19?
Like all sports we’ve been isolating for the past few months, but following advice from the State Government and local council, hockey training commenced again in early June. Social distancing measures are in place as well as additional cleaning. Sport “as usual” is expected in late June or early July, once restrictions are lifted the season will begin not long after.

EQUIPMENT & UNIFORM
All players require a hockey stick, shin pads and a mouthguard. Uniforms can be purchased closer to the season, including Playing Shirts ($58), Socks ($15) and Shorts/Skirts ($50). Please talk to us if you’d like to borrow or buy second hand equipment or items.
