Hockeyroo Amy Lawton Inspires Next Generation of Gunners

On Tuesday Hockeyroo and Hockey Club Melbourne superstar Amy Lawton ran a clinic for Juniors at La Trobe University Hockey Club.

More than 20 boys and girls attend, where Amy shared tricks and tips, and stories from her experiences playing at Olympics, World Cup and Commonwealth Games.

Amy has an incredible hockey resume, including debuting for the Hockeyroos as a 17 year old. She played in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 Commonwealth Games (Silver) and 2022 World Cup (Bronze). Amy was the 2021 Australian Institute of Sport Young Athlete of the Year as well as Victorian Institute of Sport Rising Star. She was shortlisted for  International Women’s Rising Star of the Year 2022 and HockeyOne named her the 2022 Women’s Most Valuable Player.

Amy is studying a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University.
