Xavier McBain Selected for Victoria

XavierLa Trobe University Hockey Club young gun Xavier McBain has been selected in the Vic Country team who will play in the National Country Championships in Toowoomba, Queensland.

Xavier, a student from Shepparton has excited many at the club with his slick skills through the midfield in the Men’s 1s, in only his seconds year at the club. He is also our club’s Hookin2Hockey Coach, mentoring our stars of the future. Xavier dominated the Victorian Country Championship for Goulburn Valley which led to his state selection. Injured playmaker Chris Vaughan is coaching the team.

Over the past 47 years, the La Trobe University Hockey Club has had a proud history of fostering country players who have come to Melbourne to complete tertiary studies, to work or to further their hockey career. We wish Xavier all the best for the tournament and imagine this is just a stepping stone for bigger things to come.
