The La Trobe University Hockey Club is pleased to announce Richard Moore as our newly appointed Head Coach of the Women’s VicLeague squad for 2014.
Richard takes over from Meryl McGlone who will continue coaching as an Assistant Coach supporting the the VicLeague squad while leading the Women 1s on the field.
Richard’s coaching CV includes coaching stints at Essendon, Yarra Valley and mostrecently PEGS where he led their Women’s State League team to promotion. Richard is a personal trainer by trade and successfully runs his own business. New Club President Erica Brodie said, “The club is extremely happy with Richard’s appointment who’s has had great success coaching women’s State League teams. The appointment also allows Meryl to focus on leading the girls on field, as well as developing players in the 2s. We thank Meryl for her time, effort and success with the squad in 2013 and look forward to her continuing on at the club.”
The Women’s playing group, on the back of a strong 2013 season in both the 1s and Reserves as well as a Premiership and promotion into Metro 1 for the 4s, along with Richard’s appointment, are very well placed to have some finals success in the 2014 season.
