Five Gunners Teams in 2014 Finals

2014 was an incredible year for the La Trobe University Hockey Club, with the most teams taking the field ever in the club’s history.

While our first and second eleven for the Men and Women in VicLeague 1 faced tough seasons, the teams held on throughout the season and will once again play in the second highest division in Hockey Victoria in 2015.

Across our other grades, this year we see five teams finishing in a top four position playing in finals.

Among the squads who made it to finals includes club’s first ever Juniors final team. This is an incredble achievement for both the players and club, having built out the Juniors program over the last few years. While the Under 12s Mixed District North West went down to Werribee in the first round of finals 0-3, we anticipate big growth and strength in our Juniors program in 2015 and beyond.

Also included in the teams playing finals are our Men’s Masters 45s B North West, in the first year the club has entered a team in this division. The 45s started the season in C Grade but were quickly promoted to B Grade, and clash tonight with Geelong.

Three Metro teams also made it to finals including the Men’s 3s (finishing 3rd in Metro 2 North), the Men’s 5s (finishing 3rd in Metro 2 East) and the Women’s 4s (who finished 2nd in Metro 1 South East).
