President Phil Nguyen cuts the ribbon of the new clubrooms
On November 7th, Darebin City Council and La Trobe University Hockey Club proudly unveiled the new KP Hardiman Reserve Pavilion. This milestone represents a major enhancement for our club and the broader hockey community, delivering modern, inclusive facilities designed to foster growth and encourage participation for years to come.
The new pavilion features gender-inclusive changerooms, umpiring rooms, medical facilities, public amenities, a canteen, kitchen, and spacious social rooms overlooking the pitch. These improvements reflect our shared commitment to creating welcoming spaces for all players, officials, and supporters.
Club President Phil Nguyen captured the significance of this development, saying
“For the first time our club, particularly our females and juniors, we have a space that’s safe, modern, and truly our home – a place we can build a community around, where players, families, and supporters can come together and feel part of something special.”
This project was delivered six months ahead of schedule, thanks to the outstanding efforts of Harris HMC and Darebin City Council with minimal disruption to the 2025 winter hockey season.
We extend our sincere thanks to Darebin City Council for their collaborative approach to the design and build, and to Harris HMC and Brazel Haley Maggs Architects for bringing this project to life. The new pavilion will serve as a hub for hockey and community engagement, fostering participation and connection across all ages and backgrounds.
During the summer off-season, the club will focus on fitting out the new pavilion in preparation for 2026. We’re excited to welcome players, families, and supporters into this fantastic new space.
