Stella Bernardi Stars at National Under 15 Championships

La Trobe University Hockey Club’s Stella Bernardi recently returned from the National Under 15 Championships in Newcastle, her third national championships representing Victoria.

Conditions in Newcastle were volatile with the majority of games affected by heavy rain, wind or completely called off, making the event the most difficult she has competed in. In a tough tournament for the Victorians, Stella was able to star in their only win which included hitting a goal.

Stella, despite her young age, has become a prominent fixture in the Women’s Vic League team and has impressed many of her more “senior” teammates with her talent and hard work. After the tournament, Stella was full praise for the club in her development. “Thanks La Trobe for the support over the years. Also from the coaches, parents and teammates. A special thanks to coaches Taya and Meryl and the Vic League Squad for taking me under their wing”.

Big Congratulations to Stella on her outstanding efforts and thanks to her parents Rob and Cara, junior and senior coaches who have helped her in career. We look forward to seeing her dominate in the red and white.
