La Trobe University Hockey Club was well represented at the recent Junior State Championships. On the 10th bday of our junior program, we had a whopping 12 players represent the club in six different teams.
One of the highlights of the week was the Under 15s boys final, which pitted two Mens 1s players, co-captain Flynn Burak against Matt Cook which ended in a shoot out. Flynn’s North West Tigers came out with the win against’s Matt Eastern Metro though he can hold his head high as he scored a stunning spinning goal in the shoot out (which he begged us to put the video online).
The club is extremely proud of our kids on their efforts for the week but also the tireless effort our coaches, junior committee and parents to make our junior program an elite one. Five of these kids are already playing seniors in a crystal ball into the club’s future.
