Men’s Masters 45s – Back to Back Premiers 2014 & 2015

With two premiership flags already on the wall for 2015, the pressure was on for the Men’s Masters 45s who were playing for a back-to-back premiership, having won the Grand Final in 2014.

Up against Yarra Valley Hockey Club, long time club rival and also the club that knocked over the Men’s 3s at the same ground just 48 hours earlier, it was set to be a big one. The game was tough but quickly favoured the mighty Gunners who scored early. The onslaught continued and put us 3-0 within the first 15 minutes, when Yarra opened the game up and put a little more pressure on our defense. Eventually breaking through, they managed to score but not before La Trobe could put in a final goal finished the game 4-1 up.

This is the teams second premiership in two years, and the Masters program continues to go from strength to strength having added a second team in 2014 and exploring a third in 2016. Well done Gunners!
