2015 Premiers – Men’s 6s Metro B East

The La Trobe University Hockey Club had a huge grand final weekend for 2015, with three Seniors flags up for grabs (as well as a Junior’s flag already in the bag and the Masters playing on Monday night).

The three games were played back-to-back-to-back at Greensborough, with the Women’s 4s kicking off the day at 12.30. A great season put the girls in a good place for the weekend, but new the competition would be tough with Camberwell having knocked them over during the year. Unfortunately the Gunners couldn’t break through their defense and walked away as Runners Up and a 0-3 loss.

Up next were the Men’s 6s, going in as favourites having been undefeated for the year. Old Xaverians put up a good fight, but couldn’t hold out the contact attack and skilled work through the middle. La Trobe dominated to pick up the 2015 Premiership with a conclusive 5-1 win.

Knowing it would be a difficult day, the Men’s 3s faced up to a very strong Yarra. The long-time club rivals proved too good on the day and couldn’t be beaten leaving us 0-3 when the final whistle blew.

A tough day across the board, but still a fantastic results by the Men’s 6s to pick up the flag joining the Under 12s this year. Up next, the Men’s 45s Masters playing on Monday night. Good luck!
