Fundraising Day For Lendon Family

The La Trobe University Hockey Club was saddened to hear Matt Lendon, a former player of the Gunners, was recently diagnosed with cancer. Matt, even as one of our youngest members at the time, played a key role in the development of the Men’s 2s throughout 2010 before moving across to Greensborough to further develop his hockey career. Mark, Matt’s father, is also a long-time Gunners member, currently playing in our Veteran’s team.

On the 11th of August, the La Trobe University Hockey Club will be holding a fundraiser at the Cauldron to help raise money for the Lendon family. The day will commence with our two Under 9s teams at 11am, with games on all day including our Men’s and Women’s State League teams playing in the afternoon.

All proceeds from the day, including the BBQ, a raffle and collected donations will be given directly to the Lendon family to assist in Matt’s treatment.

If you have any suggestions or are able to assist in fundraising, please contact Talea Leenaerts at fundraising@latrobeunihockey.com.

We wish Matt and his family all the best in his treatment and look forward to a young star getting back on the hockey field.
