LTUHC Pride Round 2024

What an awesome fun-filled weekend celebrating Pride Round!

This year a big focus was on the importance of pronouns, and gender as a spectrum. Respecting people’s pronouns is crucial. Since you can’t always tell someone’s pronouns just by looking at them, it’s important to ask and use their pronouns correctly. This is one of the simplest ways to show respect for their gender identity. During the day we provided pronoun stickers for everyone to proudly display theirs. It was great seeing everyone embrace this small but important gesture of inclusivity.

Another great part of the day was the interactive artwork where people wrote down what Pride means to them, LTUHC, and sport. We got some wonderful and creative responses, and we can’t wait to put this artwork up in our new clubrooms.

Some responses included:

Respecting everyone as an equal

We all have different colours

Be your whole self

Of course, we had our usual player-of-the-match medals, rainbow socks, and face paint, adding a splash of colour to the games. When the night rolled around, our Reverse Raffle kicked off, Pride themed off course! It was amazing to see so many people come out, support the club, and show their Pride.

Thanks to everyone who joined in and made the day special. We’re looking forward to the next one!
