A huge weekend for our Men’s Metro 2 who defeated Greensborough at home in a nail biting finish. The game remained very equal as tensions grew high, until La Trobe slotted the winning goal with eight minutes remaining. They progress through to the Grand Final next weekend against Footscray, where they’re joined by the Women’s Metro 1 and Women’s Metro 4 teams who went straight through to the Grand Final after winning the Semi Finals last weekend.
Sadly, our Men’s State League 3 went down in a huge game against Casey that finished 4-5. Despite not progressing to the Grand Final next week, it has been a huge season for the boys who were promoted from State League 4 last season. In 2013 they will play in VicLeague 1 (State League 2) under the new structure).
Another big weekend coming up for the Gunners with three senior teams playing in the Grand Final this weekend, with the roster back-to-back-to-back on Saturday afternoon:
– Women’s 4s (Metro 4) play against Kew at Essendon 12:00pm on Saturday
– Men’s 2s (Metro 1) play against Footscray at Essendon 2:00pm on Saturday
– Women’s 2s (Metro 1) play against CV Blazers at Essendon 4:00pm on Saturday
