After being relegated to State League 5 at the end of 2008, the La Trobe University Hockey Club is pleased to announce that in 2013, the Men’s First XI will play in VicLeague 1.
A premiership in State League 5 in 2009 saw the Men’s 1s promoted back into State League 4, where they finished 3rd in 2010 just missing out on promotion. Last year, in 2011 they finished top of the ladder and took home the premiership to be promoted into State League 3.
Finishing third on the ladder in the 2012 home and away season sees the Men’s 1s automatically promoted into VicLeague 1 under the new system to be implemented in 2013 (eqivilent of State Leauge 2) – no matter what the outcome of finals in the coming weeks.
They will be joining our Women’s First XI, who will also be playing in VicLeague 1 after being promoted at the end of 2011.
