On Saturday the 19th of November the La Trobe Uni Hockey Club has hosted a successful four-team Under 9 Girls Tournament including the Kew, Essendon and Yarra Hockey Clubs.
Players were split into teams of six with games being played on a modified-sized field. Over 30 girls participated in the day’s matches which saw plenty of goal scoring action.
The successful tournament has seen the overall level of participation noticeably higher than a normal Under 9s Winter season due to the modified format.
A special thanks to Simone McSweeney and Paula Butcher for playing a key role in organising the tournament. Hockey Victoria have commended the club on running a highly successful and innovative tournament.
