Under 10 Team Selection Policy

LTUHC Junior Selection Policy (UNDER 10)

Safety, enjoyment and equity are paramount in the LTUHC Junior Selection Policy process.   The priorities of the LTUHC Junior Selection Policy are:

–   players must be financial with the club
–   ensuring all teams each week play with the minimum number of players (7 in Under 10s)
–   players to be distributed among teams as evenly as possible each week
–   players to be in a team appropriate to their skill level and abilities (as assessed by Coaching Panel*)
–   players to be in a team appropriate to their age
–   all siblings to be kept together where possible
–   friendship groups to be kept together where possible
–   players to be put in teams with regards to travel requirements

* Coaching Panel will consist of all Team Coaches and the Junior Manager

Process
–    Coaching Panel determines team selection
–    where parents are concerned that their child is not in the correct team this is to be discussed between the Coaching Panel and parent
–    a final decision will be made by the Coaching Panel with detailed reasons about the selection
