Our Under 10 program runs three times a year as an eight week program during the term. Hookin2Hockey runs in Term 1, Stick2Hockey runs in Term 2 and 3. While we encourage beginners to start with Hookin2Hockey, this is not compulsory. Both are designed as pathways into our Juniors Winter Competition.
Hookin2Hockey gives young boys and girls (10 years old and under) the opportunity to learn the basic skills and rules of hockey. The program is fun and safe – designed for beginners to get involved, make friends and start a lifelong love of hockey.
Fees are $85 per participant, which includes a playing shirt, hockey stick, shin pads, hockey ball and a participation certificate. Children must bring their own mouthguard.
Fees must be paid to Hockey Australia via the website here: https://hookin2hockey.com.au. Search for La Trobe using the postcode 3083 and follow the on screen instructions.
Stick2Hockey is a natural progression from Hookin2Hockey and helps participants develop their skills further as the move toward traditional club hockey. This program introduces modified game formats and an intra-club competition.
Fees are $118 per participant, which includes a $43 payment directly to Hockey Victoria. For this program children are required to bring their own equipment and uniform, including a mouthguard.
Term 1 (commencing 23/02) – Hookin2Hockey
Term 2 (commencing 4/05) – Stick2Hockey
Term 3 (commencing 20/7) – Stick2Hockey
Sessions run most Saturdays, 9am-10am at KP Hardiman Reserve (Plenty Road, Bundoora).
You do not need to register for the first session, just come down! For Hookin2Hockey, each child receives their introduction pack in the mail once registered with Hockey Australia, and can use club equipment until then.
CLUB COMMUNICATIONS (TeamApp)
We use TeamApp to communicate with parents/players.
