Meryl McGlone to Represent Victoria

La Trobe University Hockey Club is proud to announce club superstar Meryl McGlone has been selected in the Victorian 35s team for the 2018 National Championships in south-west Western Australia this week.

Meryl, who’s been at the club since college days back in the early 2000s, is renown around the Victorian hockey as a hard working mid-fielder with several (actually lost count how many) Kizanne Davies Women’s 1s Best & Fairest Shield titles to show for it. Meryl has also been a long serving captain for the Women’s 1s and coached the Vic League girls in her time.

She’s pretty much done it all at La Trobe and now she has the chance to do it on the big stage for Victoria. The Vics have an extremely strong side and are looking to go one better than last year’s silver medal.

A tremendous achieve for such a legend of the club and a great example to all our club members. Congratulations Mez and all the best for the tournament!
