One In The Bag, Four More Premierships Up For Grabs

It’s been a huge finals season for the La Trobe University Hockey Club, with only one team knocked out.

Last weekend saw the Under 12s beat Melton 4-1, picking up the first flag for the year and the first ever junior premiership for the club. On the same weekend in the preliminaries, the Men’s 3s and the Men’s 4s played at Hawthorn. The Men’s 3s faced up against Melbourne High, who previously they’d not beaten, and walked away with a 1-0 win. The tough game sore La Trobe score early in the second half and put heavily under pressure but defended well to walk into the Grand Final next weekend against Yarra.

Meanwhile the Men’s 4s played Hawthorn, also having not beaten them during the season, and went down 0-4.

The Men’s 6s and the Women’s 4s, having both finished on top of the ladder, went straight through to the Grand Final after winning two rounds ago in the semi finals.

The Master’s 45s also picked up a win, knocking over Essendon last night with a 1-0 win.

That leaves the Gunners with one already in the bag, and another four up for grabs this weekend.
